Both rusty throttle shafts had to be removed to get them working freely, and to allow properly cleaning the throttle bores. This is what it looks like with throttles removed, bores scraped out & polished, and removal of stuck air valve from main body. At least the choke shaft didn't have to be unpeened & hammered out.

And after some reassembly of shafts & blades.

And viola, a complete 1965 FA truck carb:

Rebuilding the rear brake drums. Should be cut and dry but... the wheel cylinders have different length springs?
P.O. improvement #99 to the ole gal.
Please chime in if you know the correct length spring.

And I’m curious about these wheels. The hole makes me think they are intended to be mounted backwards for some reason (I’ve seen that on various farm implements and trailers) but that doesn’t make any sense with the clips. So what’s the obvious reason for the hole that’s aligned with the fill valve?

The hole would be mounted over the inspection plate on the drum so you could check brake linings w/o removing wheel.
