just dropped off my 2016 LC with 55k miles. In addition to the normal maintenance (oil change, rotate tires, lubricate, re-torque drive shaft), they also added:

-install cf5 carbon fighter and deposit control fuel treatment
-install moa oil conditioner
-perform frigi-fresh sanitizer service (kills mold, fungi, and odors)

i checked the toyota website and do not see any of the last three items. are these normal items any of you have experienced?

thanks!

Ha. That is dealer speak for wipe out the cold box with a chlorox wipe and charge customer $50. Insane how they actually get away with this stuff.

-Decline: our motors are fine running the detergents already in gasoline
-Decline: you are adding what to the genuine Toyota motor oil specified for my motor?
-Decline: my hvac already smells great, no mold

thanks. i called them and declined everything except for the basic maintenance that was required.

all my past experience at this dealership have been fine. however, when they pull crap like this it's easy to take my business elsewhere in the future.

I hope they don’t check the cabin filter incorrectly and break the blend door. The HVAC has to be in RECIRC mode to check the filter and many people who work in the Express Lane just force the blend door up and break it.

cha ching, cha ching, cha ching, you (almost) just got sold a bunch of useless junk services padding their bottom line. :)

Our local Toyota dealer installed a Hunter alignment checker at the entrance and try to sell alignment services to every customer. Shameless.

I lock my glovebox whenever I drop mine off for service anywhere.

And keep the key blade with you, I assume.

This advice should be given to literally every 200 owner that browses this section.

This is the only reason mine is still intact I have no doubt. Agreed that this should be added to the "start here" portion of this forum.

I’ve even had one tell me that my filter was dirty. I asked how they checked. That look was priceless.
