I am considering doing a conversion on my FJ40 to the Mercedes OM617 using a 4x4Labs adapter I have here (actually the one I have is for the w56 tranny but they have said they will swap out the bits to the version for my H55f LC 5 speed). If I don't do this conversion I guess this will be up for sale - I am on the fence at the moment.

What I want to know is how do people like this conversion in an FJ40? I've spoken with a few people and the general opinion seems to be that it is like a 2F with less low end torque but with MUCH better mileage...

Thoughts?

I see no reason for it to be a pooch (if you gear it correctly).

Mercedes arent known for being light.

Id be interested in the adapter (if you decide not to).

Sent from my Pandora box, ya peckerwoods.
