I am in the middle of building the DIY 80 rear bumper and I plan to add some rear reverse lights into the bumper, and wondered what you have done to it?

I have seen rear camera's, all sorts of different ladders, gas can holders, coolers, so show me what you did!!

Good thread idea!

Holy Cow, I need a hobby. That was my 5,000 post.

I hear ya'! I have over 3,000 in 2 years!!!

I'll be building mine soon, was also curious about what interesting ideas people have for license plate lighting, brackets, etc.

As it is now I have a dual swingout kit and plan to put my 315 spare on the left, and at least temporarily mount my 60" hi-lift on the right side with a plate bracket, with the jack leaned over to the left to whatever extent possible to clear the roof line.

I'm not a fan of having the weight of multiple gas/water cans over the rear, and can't see a need for a ladder with the direction I'm taking my rig, so I'm very interested in what comes up in th is thread. I might do some searching and post other people's ideas/pics to help organize things.

I recessed my trailer plugs using an OEM socket from a Tundra. Built a custom ladder and tire carrier too but those are nothing new.

If you have swing outs that obscure the stock license plate location, you will need to add a lighted license plate bracket somewhere visible and run the wiring for it.

Corbett, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Going to have to add that.

Thanks for the link. Nice build

I am frenching in some led rear lights.

Not shown are a small spade shovel and bow saw that are also normally mounted here. Simple angle iron welded to tire carrier. There is a "pin" going vertical through the foot cleat of the shovel as it will rotate and drop without it

That Fiskars maul is an awesome piece of machinery.

Just saw @MaddBaggins thread where he cut in a hole for the exhaust in the pass side. Really cool.

I want to mount the license plate on the right swing out, thinking about using a early FJ 40 license plate frame and light.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Or things that used?

My receiver feels a bit sloppy ( I know, sounds like a personal problem) and I was wondering if anyone has done anything to combat this. Seems like the receiver hitch pin could have been located further inward or something.

I also did not care for The look over the bumper and have that gap before the rear tailgate
