inner fender skirts, OEM?

so I was checking out that cool 1981 JDM BJ44 L spec on Ebay and noticed something(besides the obvious cool stuff) I had not seen before......my guess is they are OEM for the JDM market or maybe on the L spec rigs.....but kinda cool(and pretty sure I have not seen them on US spec)

if I recall(not at home) the US rigs have the bolts and captive nuts.....just no rubber

Your right they are OEM

Never USA afaik... It was only Canada in North America cruisers

I believe it was a euro spec thing as well as Japan ... But... Would need to double check that

I have them on my BJ41. It has the L package like the BJ44 pictured.

came on the diesels here in canada ,
had them on my 78 BJ40 ,
also my buddys 1980 BJ42 has them
diesel thing for sure

I double checked and did a quick look with the part number ... It was also used on gassers as well in euro spec trucks

Canada and Japan Only on Dsl
Europe was Dsl and Gassers

Ok , so who is gonna figure out a part number or get me an example to copy ? I can bend metal that direction here and make new flat steel to hold the rubber parts on ....?

I might be able to pull one of my buddy's truck. I think I sold my fender that had the pieces on it.
Someone around my area should have these parts

If I can borrow one to make a template and there is interest in such a part being duplicated , they could be done . Not sure about the rubber part ...maybe a silicone rubber sheet would work for a modern material ?

The rubber part is approximately 1/8" (3.125mm) thick. A good piece of EPDM rubber sheet will work.

I haven't ever taken mine off, but I'm not convinced that the retainer is metal. I will try to investigate it further this weekend. I think it's just another piece of rubber.

my memory sucks, there are no captive nuts for the retainers on my 82(or any others) really thought there were

I would have thought they would as you @Landpimp ... However looks like Canada had a different part number than us for front fenders

I just confirmed that the retainer is metal, not rubber as I had previously thought. Sorry for the confusion.

If I had an example to make a template pattern from , I could bend up that pattern and punch the holes for a kit ....

i have no captive nuts on my new oem fenders either I'll have to look for my receipt and see actually what year fenders they where for ,
i know i just asked the dealer to find me two fenders .i didn't care what year they where for . they where Canadian fender though lol
