In case anyone has thought of trying this.......Had a broken wire right at the switch housing so instead of buying a new switch, dug all of the rubbery stuff out very carefully, drilled the side of the broken wire, unsoldered the connection and pulled out the wire and insulation, threaded wire through, trimmed end and new solder. Then filled with West system flexible epoxy. Thought of using hot glue at first but that didn't seem permanent enough. I just made a little loop in the black wire to equalize the lengths.
