I am 99 percent sure it is just due to load on the front axle but want to get some feedback to see if anyone else has experienced this.
When in 4wd and initially accellerating and decellerating while driving I get a noise as if something in the front end is dragging.. not grinding.. The front end was gone through with new wheel bearings, nuckle kit. Tcase is also 1 year new via toyota. Gear oil was changed 3 months ago. Any thoughts?
thanks

Driveshaft u-joints, driveshaft splines worn, front t-case output bearing, or front diff pinion bearing.

Go underneath and see if you can move things around. Make sure nothing is under load. Probably and hopefully one of the 1st two...

My vote is the pinion bearing.

I've got the same thing in my 60. I'm eyeing the front slip joint suspiciously since the grease plug is missing and who knows when the last time it was greased properly. post with details if you find the problem...

I have done some further investigating... everything is fortunately really tight, with the exclusion of the typical amount of small play in the slip yoke.. the ujoints are also new and everything is well greased.

Spoke with my local driveline shop who actually does quite good work and is knowledgeable... I had him retube a shaft for me and I eliminated my factory cv joint which was up at the tcase... my driveline angle is 14 degrees.... I think this could be a result of removing the factory cv setup and just going to a regular 2 ujoint driveshaft... Has anyone else done this...

Do all canadian spec 70's have a cv front driveshaft?
Thanks guys:beer:
