After a recent wheeling trip my truck was covered in mud, and I’ve had problems before with my intake not sealing after the truck was rolled so I decided to take my fender off and check everything. To my suprise the intake was completely blocked off with mud. Luckily my intake did not infact seal correctly or else my poor truck truck would be completely starved for oxygen.

After seeing this I decided I needed to do something to combat my lack of inner fenders and my lack of a sealed intake system. So I went to Home Depot and got a 3in drain pipe and a 90 elbow. I I had to lightly force the 90 elbow into the hole where the old 90 came out with a sawzall and hammer. After getting the 90 elbow in to my suprise it fit perfectly over the air boxes intake hole. I then secured the 3ft drain pipe to the body with some extra sheet metal and rubber bits I had and some hose clamps.

The new drain pipe intake thingy fit perfectly under the fender and it now makes a very nice little growling noise from 2.5-5k rpm’s. I have yet to test it in water but in deeps snow the inside of the intake was completely dry.
