44x44" ARB Roof Rack

Anyone out there have the smaller ARB basket style rack installed?

This is the 44x44" style

Not many reviews or product shots of this on mud, just older complaint forums of the larger style not being a direct fit. I like the basket style rack, rather than the flat style, and the smaller size is good enough for me.

The goal would be to have maxtrax living up there full time and then an assortment of different gear bags and what-not to be thrown in, nothing too heavy. I think the maxtrax will hang off by an inch or so which isn't the end of the world.

Just looking for some feedback / real world review of this setup. Part of me just thinks F**K it just throw everything up on the roof as is and tie it down, do I really need the aftermarket rack.

Part of you is right, I think. Give that a shot, then upgrade as needs arise.

I can't speak to the size you're asking about, but I had the full length ARB on my 80 and damn, that thing was HEAVY. Super stout, you could easily stand on it without flex and use it as a platform.

yeah I bet, they do look beefy. I'm still torn on if I need it or not.

Anyone out there with the 44x44" installed? Would be nice to hear some real world reviews.

Should I be concerned with water getting in, or a bit of teflon tape and silicone when installing should solve that problem
