I just picked up a 40th Anniversary Ed. and have been trying to find out how many were produced. Anyone out there know?

Thanks a lot.

Wait a minute, I thought I had the only one

anybody have a '57?

There were only 40. One for each year. :D :flipoff2:

Oops. Maybe they made 2, one when I wasn't looking. :flipoff2: :D :D

That would make mine a 37th. I heard that all of the 38th+ editions have a crappy tranny, so you should just sell it and upgrade to the better truck. :D :flipoff2:

At least we aren't a sarcastic lot.

Birdman -

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your new rig.

As you can see, it is sometimes difficult to get a straight answer ;)

To the best of my knowledge - from published sources - there were approximately 74,500 Land Cruisers manufactured in 1997 worldwide. Of those, approximately 11,500 were delivered to the U.S. (may include Canada, but not sure).

There were three models in the U.S. in 1997, the standard production model, the Collectors Edition, and the 40th Anniversary Edition. I have never seen the statistics of how many of each were made, but you can at least derive an approximation of the total number of 40th's from this.

Cheers, R -

Thanks to all for their humor and information. :D

80's never went to Canada. Maybe the Lexi version did, but not with a Toy badge unless taken in like T's.

Whaddaya mean the 80s never went to Canada???? What the hell is the Lexi version?
I know what ya meant though :flipoff2:
:D :D

No LCs officially sold in Canada. LX 450 made it there -- and from what I'm told all of them in Canada have OEM lockers !!!!

Ah, but with me stating that no 80 LCs went there means all the 40ths sent here ended up in da states. :flipoff2: :D :D
