Hello eveyone! :flipoff2:

I picked up the Cruiser a couple of weeks ago from a dealer in Boulder, CO. It was a single owner that traded it in for a 50th. The guy took very good care of it. He even had the window sticker and original sales brochure. It has 135K, but looks and drives near new. No lockers, but has everything else. I bought it as a third vehicle to my daily driver Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and the fiance's Nissan Murano SE. It's basically for the bad snow days and camping/fishing.

I have read most of the FAQs and lurked for the past couple of weeks, so I thought it was time to man up and join.

Last, but not least, a couple of pics.

So you got it... you rotten @#$%^ ;) glad its new home is on MUD :D

I saw that on CR and when I looked later for the phone number it was gone :bang:

Nice purchase and welcome :flipoff2:

Yep, saw it on CR Sat morning when it was posted and headed over to Boulder Toyota immediately. Test drove it before it was even sent through the detail shop.

Congrats on the purchase! Finding clean 80's is becoming more difficult as time goes buy especially buying from the original owner. Great find. I'm not locked either, but no regrets as I found mine in a similar situation as you and couldn't pass it up. I also drive a Japaneese AWD turbocharged car as my DD....WRX.

Welcome to Mud.:D

Welcome...nice find!

Nice rig, looks super clean! Now all you need to do is call Irbis Offroad, or Slee Offroad and get front and rear axles with lockers in them!:flipoff2:

what is this "CR" you speak of?

Sweet find. Lose the damage multiplier.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

CR=craigslist is how I interpreted Mike W's comment.

Sweet find. Lose the damage multiplier.

Considering at this point, I have no plans to do any crawling with it, I will leave it stock. It will be used for snow days, extra cargo room and light offroading, if that. To each his own, right?

To each his own IS right....Welcome to the forum and enjoy the fresh snow with it!

I'm having a locked 97 40th with 120k on the clock inspected at the moment, mind if I ask what you paid? I know, tacky, tacky, tacky..........

The damage multiplier is not stock, and you don't have to be driving offroad for your truck to end up like this guys:

Sorry, I thought your were calling the running boards the "damage multiplier" as I have heard others call them that as mentioned on this page:

1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Buildup, Part 1 - Off-Road Magazine
"Stock running boards are no match for trail obstacles. These things are damage multipliers"

Thanks for the advice.:hmm:

Geez, you just post a couple pics and your getten hazed already....
Fortunately these guys are right. You gotta (at some point) get rid of the front bumper. You have a great looking vehicle, you probably wanna keep it that way.
The current running boards are ok though. Get a CDL switch, and suspension upgrade and your in business.:D
