Does anyone know if there was a half cab kit to convert a 40 into a smallish 45??

I found many pictures of conversions done, and they all look almost too similar to each be customs, but could not find any info to see if it was a kit, and if it might be still available.

Longer

Never heard of any kit.

I'd make a longer cab to have more inside storage room and leg room.
:D

Also loose the rear ambulance doors in favor of a single window or hatch.

The primer one in the middle was mine. It was a full top cut down and the amby doors welded and filled. Im 6,0 ft and had to put on a smaller grant wheel because my legs touched the factory big wheel. other than that it was okay. (the heater worked really well after that too :D )

The cap in the third picture was made from a 45 hard top. The windows are shorter on the 45.

So they are basically all custom made, using the same basic idea.

Besides space, and the gained heating ;) any downsides to this set-up?

Ron, why did you end up getting rid of it? Was it easily convertible back to a regular top?

Thanks John for pointing out the 45 cab...I hadn't noticed the smaller windows.

Edit: couple more half cab pics
