4-Low woes

    Put in 4 low today when doing a tight turn around in very soft, wet sand and heard a disturbing noise from 4 low. Almost sounded like a universal joint. A unifiorm popping sound that reverberated into T-case shifter. I then accelerated hard in dirt a few times in 4 low...same noise. Almost feels like a skip in gearing /busted gear.

    4 high works graet no noise, shifts fine.

    Should I start saving for new T-Case.

    Look at you linkage. Disconnect the HI/low linkage and stick it in low by hand then see if you can get it to grind I doubt it will make any difference and it will still grind. Re connect. Disconnect the 4wd plunger linkage and try it again. If it does not grind w/o linkage connected look to adj the linkage or free it up. If it does grind look at the PS front motor mount or the tranny mount.
