I drove to Bellingham, Washington to test drive a BJ60 before I bought my FJ60. It looked clean on Craigslist. Got up there toward evening to see a hunk of rust with holes through the wheel wells. It was drivable and sounded like a little tractor. Took it out on test drive and was fun to drive but without the turbo it had a lack of power but great fuel economy. Getting my FJ60 and having lack of power and poor fuel economy had me search and build a Cummins diesel swap.

So let me clarify, it is a American 60 series with a factory 3B motor, I would get the whole rig.
have done that very swap not a hard one to do... got to move some motor mounts and other odds and ends but overall pretty bolt in

If you have a full BJ60 donor, then a very straight forward swap. Not a very powerful one, but there are turbo options and such.

good luck!
turbo made a world of difference for me on the 3b... really turned the 3b into a whole nother beast
