Hey all! Some of you may have kept up with my 100 series saga. The 2000 LC from Alaska that was kindly gifted to me was looked at before I flew out to Fairbanks and I got the great news that it’s solid to drive across the country and that the frame was in good shape too. A new timing belt and water pump were put in on the 28th before we left. We did the whole trip (4,800 miles) in 8 days. The last 2 days we drove 2,500 without stopping, only taking shifts to drive. The abs lights that were on decided to go away and haven’t come in for the last 1,500 miles.
The crusher made it with zero complications besides a leak in the sunroof that was fixed with flex tape and no ac. It also came with 4 practically new studded winter tires! Saves me a lot of money this winter.
I’m thrilled that it made it all this way and that this trip finally happened. I waited nearly a year to get this truck. It has 155k now and a lot of character from its past. brought it off-roading today for the first time in its life. It did great. Here’s some photos. She’s not perfect in any way, there’s alot wrong with it- but it’s everything I’ve ever wanted. You’ll see more of this truck in the future.
