So I'm taking my rear axle apart for a rebuild (don't think they have ever been apart) and while removing the nuts for the third member a few of the studs came out. I guess I should remove the studs and replace them with new ones. So how do you take the studs off and where is the best place to get new ones?

Thanks

No reason to replace them if there's nothing wrong with them. You can remove/instal them by putting 2 nuts on a stud and bind them together and turn accordingly.

I'd run a tap in the hole and die over both ends of the studs.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm a little worried that when I try to remove the nuts from the studs that came out that I might bugger up the threads so I just want to make sure I can get new ones.

Use a vice or vice grips on the center part of the stud when trying to get the nut off - x2 on thread sealant / locktite on the threads that go into the housing
