simply not true...
My 88 3FE had smaller bolts holding the flexplate to the crank, and the early 3FE also lacks the bolt holes for the later auto trans support brackets...other than that, just a couple of accessories and wiring connectors separate the two...
point of referance...I bot a 240,000 mile 3FE complete with accessories for 500 + freight.
