I recently purchased a 89 fj62 that had a bad engine. I have removed the engine to find that the head was cracked and water was sitting in the cylinders for 10+ years. The #2 suffered the most damage since the piston was in the down position and was pitted from rust. Ended up getting all 6 bored to .020 over, and turned the crank to .010 under. Now ready to order parts and put everything back.

The current issue is there are no oversize pistons available that I can find. Does anyone have suggestions of what to do or where to find pistons?

Thanks

I think Toyota only makes .50, 1.0, & 1.5 oversized pistons.
megazip has .50 O/S on sale right now

0.50, 1.0 and 1.5mm oversize are .19685", .03937" and .0591" respectively. Really probably should have checked to see the available sizes before having the block bored & honed.

0.50 pistons should work, but you're going to be near the maximum piston-to-bore clearance.

Worst case you can have custom pistons made. Though expect to pay around $600 to $1000 for a set with rings.
