How much oil should I expect to come out of the 3FE when I remove the oil filter? I changed the oil and have a very slow drip coming from the gasket. I hand tightened it. I tried to back off it and it is still dripping. I think I need to unscrew it and inspect the gasket.

Me too. Should be drip free. Make sure the old gasket didn't stay on there.

Mine doesn’t drip and my truck is pretty sketchy, I’d take a look at the gasket situation.

Do the 3fes have a oil cooler sandwiched between the filter and mount?

The FSM states that you should hand tighten the oil filter, then go 3/4 of a turn with a oil filter wrench FYI.
