3fe into a 74 running gear, questions galore (1 Viewer)

I am putting a 3fe into my 69 fj40 that already has a 74 f with its running gear.

how do i get the stinkin torque converter off the fly wheel? the whole unit seems to be welded together.

do I need to save the fly wheel from the fj62?

that'll do for starters.

There are bolts that retain the torque converter to the flex plate. The heads of the bolts are on the engine side of the flex plate, iirc.

Rotate the flex plate and remove the bolts.
