So.... all jokes aside about the lack of power in a 3fe,
mine has recently started to 'hunt' in between 3rd and 4th on the auto when on the highway between 100 and 110 km/hr. If I leave it in 3rd it will pull all the way up to 120 km/hr with ease (just revs a little bit ha ha).
When it changes from 3rd to 4th, the revs drop from about 3500rpm to about 2000rpm, and its like all the power is sucked out of it, then after a few seconds of slowly having to depress the accelerator further to maintain speed, it kicks back to 3rd.
Never used to do it unless towing a trailer.
Have just serviced it, set the timing etc. curious what else it could be.
