Hello all,

I'm decently new to the 3B world, but I've torn mine down today. Head is off. Found hairline cracks in the injector cups. Will be replacing these, and the seals, gaskets etc. There was a mouse nest in the coolant passage of the head (the water pump was off when I got it).

Is there any common spots I should inspect? common seals/gaskets I should replace? Is it common to get the valves reseated or anything?

Is there a common source for all these replacement parts? I'm just outside of Toronto in Canada.

thanks,
Sim

Does anyone recommend NOT getting this cost-effective chinese gasket set?

how about the Aussie combustion cups?

Do you guys buy new head bolts when you take the head off too?

I bet there is someone in Canada that can help but also worth checking with Engines Australia. I did purchase some things from them for my 3B.

It is commun to find cracks between valves. These can be welded by fusion welding process.
Liners , where piston stop their course at TDC, just a little above, liners may shown wear. You can’t reach it when honing.
Piston pin may shown sign of wear.
Might have deposit in the cooling system, hard to get rids of it.
Before ordering a kit, important to know production date of the bloc.
Lots of patience waiting for parts and measure everything, all clearance. Pre-combustion and liners protrusion.
And follow manufacturer’s instruction FSM ;)
Many place to get parts but not a lot of part available anymore.
