Ok, At toyota today and they couldn't find the part # for the tach sender in my BJ60. Someone kindly snapped off the wires, which is why I had such a hard time finding it... (just looked like a nut!)

So... Reading around here I found that the BJ7x uses this part #, which apparently "seems to cross over to many applications"... just wondering if someone can confirm that the 3B is or isn't one of those applications.

Tach sender part # 83180-60040

This is not in the "Part #'s" thread... but I will add it once I can confirm it.

Is there such a thing as an aftermarket one?

Thanks!

I only have the Japanese version of the EPC, but what i come up with is -

83180-60030

08/80-11/84 BJ6#

83180-60040

11/84-08/86 BJ61
10/82-01/90 HJ6#
11/84-01/90 BJ7#

Buy the way, its called a 'Detector Assy, Revolution' on the EPC

Hope that helps...

Where is the sender?

On the side of the bellhousing. It's a 24mm bolt with two wires that usually get ripped out when the clutch is changed because the shop doesn't know it's there.

It took me forever to find it when I was looking - the wires were off, and the tabs were cleaned right off - it just looked like a big nut!! (prev. owner had the clutch done)

It's on the passenger side, about 1/2 way up the belhousing, you should be able to see it from above and below...

Nope.. these part #s come back as "discontinued"... anyone else got a number to try?

Someone must make a replacement one? Has anyone had to replace this?
