Hello everyone! My BJ42 has a 2" exhaust cobbled up by a Midas shop for the PO. It hangs a little to low under the passangers side and the bends are actually crimped smaller than 2". I would like to replace it with a stainless set-up abpout 3" in diameter and tuck it up closer to get more clearance for off road. Also my EGT temps run high if I push it, so i'm hoping to lower them as well by doing this. Can anyone advise me where to get a set of pipes and muffler that will work? Do I have to hve them custom made or there aftermarket parts I can use? Any and all advice and commentary will be appreciated. Thanks Again! Tim

Are you turbo'd yet? That will affect the advice we give you.

size of exhaust will not make difference in this case, it will be loud and awkward to install but in the end as long as the restriction is lessened then the goal is accomplished...
i would recommend a 2 1/2" if you are heading anywhere near deep water... too big and there is not enough engine pressure to keep the water out and the back pressure will stop the engine...

thank you all

Thank you all for the advice! I think I will try to find someone local who can fab up a 2 1/2 " exhaust for me as Wayne suggested. I don't think I am going to go to the expense of a turbo as I have been quite happy doodling along the back roads at 30- 50 mph. Gives you time to enjoy the scenery. Just want to lower my exhaust temps and make the old 3b last Forever! Tim

Make sure they use a large enough muffler. The OEM muffler is BIG, probably 8" diameter and 18 - 24" long.

Mandrel bent .. your best bet if is possible !

Up here they don't do the nasty accordion bend stuff that they do in Central America.
