3b diesel question (1 Viewer)

I pulled a travel trailer home with my cruiser with the 3b. It got kinda hot and had to take it easy stopping every now and then to let it cool down.
After I got home and headed out into the mountains I noticed it did not have the same pick up and had to use lower gears driving up hills.
I'm looking for some suggestions as around town it works great but thinking I might have warped the head and lost some compression.
Any input appreciated !

It could be the fan clutch. What is the condition of the rad and how old is the thermostat?is the 3B iturboed

Non-turbo. I'll have a look at the fan. Also check for any leaks around injectors. No sure if I damaged head gasket or worse the head ?

Likely you didnt damage much. Mine seemed like it was sluggish this spring then realized it was still in 4H lol. Now its like light speed.... for a 3B

When I test drove mine it was stuck in 4Low. We eventually figured it out and made some adjustments and after that it felt so much faster, haha

it's in 2 H and seems to have some issues. I'll be putting it on the road and can do another road test soon.

I would eliminate the basics before contemplating an engine disaster: air flow to the intake and, more likely, fuel delivery. The 3B is a pretty robust engine.
