Hi all, it's been awhile.
Just had the 2F rebuild by Chris Cole in Charlottsvile, VA.
I told him to drain the old fuel from the tank as it had been sitting in her for the better part of a year.
The gauge read 1/2, but he drained more then 30 gallons. How do I make the reading accurate?

About to drive her back across country in a month from VA to CA and I rather not have to make a fuel log.
Any suggestions?

Thanks all.

You need a fuel sender that works in the same ohm range as the stock gauge. The original sender works in that range but does not work in the total travel aspect from empty to full.

Maybe the sender lever connected to the float is stuck and won't drop down. Pull it & find out.

Ok, thank you.

Mine is not that bad, but a similar issue. The tank is shaped differently, and my sender is on the bottom of the tank when I still have 8-9 gallons left. I am still getting about 29-30 gallons between F and E, but if I want to stretch it further, then there's math involved, and I need to have remembered to reset the trip odometer.
