I ran 33x9.5’s on my FJ80 back in the day loved it. Way better than wide tires.
One thing to consider, regarding @leonard_nemoy ‘s comment. While I personally don’t disagree, it’s pretty telling that most vehicles in desert countries run skinny tires. I don't think Americas obsession with wide tires passes over into reality/real world situations.
That's exactly is my point.. have done some research and skinny is supposedly the way to go. Does anyone have pic of 33 skinny on 80
It's simple physics, pounds per square inch in the sand is what matters. Wider tires equals less pounds per square inch. Same thing applies to deep snow and tundra bogs.I ran 33x9.5’s on my FJ80 back in the day loved it. Way better than wide tires.

I hear you. I’ve just had better results with skinnies than fatties. Anyone has experience of skinny tires, I am in northern Alberta and 80 has 3" lift. I do occasional offroading and its my daily.
