the NJ word..
Saw a $300 Craigslist buy local a few weeks ago and couldn't pass it up. Older MAC top and bottom full of tools, fasteners, gauges, ect. ect..
The whole top of the box in the pic are Snap On or Bluepoint. Rest are Craftsman and some high quality older taiwan snap on knock offs called BenchTop.

What is this Snap On tool used for that's still new in it's tray ? It has different tips.

no idea really, but looks vaguely like a mini slide hammer. Is that a sliding weight or just a handle?

does the screwdriver tip fit on the bent end or in the collet affair? Is there a cam there that would make the tip twist, as in an impact driver?

evidently, I have no clue... :)

not that it matters since, just as evidently, the point of the thread is to show off the find, rather than asking about the gizmo, right? Right? :D And congrats on that! :)

lol, it was a little show off, a little help.:hillbilly:

It has a knurled knob on the end a one midway that you hold I guess. You can turn the end knob and it has a 1/4 drive end that turns on the other end. I suppose it's like a reach around bit turner but was wondering what the actual intended use was . Carb adjuster or something? Can't imagine you get enough torque to break loose a hard screw or tighten one.

... Carb adjuster ...

That's correct, the adapters are for idle screws, etc. In the early emissions years manufactures used unique heads on the adjuster screws to make them more tamper resistant.

This.

+ you may also have an Allen key socket to fit older GM distributors with outside-adjustable points.

For 300.00 you did VERY well.
