3 Free mods for me today!

I work in a collision shop and we had a rough winter this year, which means alot of work, and even more totaled cars! When we get totals through, I always like to browse, and go on a search for things I could use. Here is what I found yesterday, and installed tonight.......

Clear fender signals from an '09 Toyota Yaris>




A Gentex-177 mirror w/ auto dim, Temp & Compas>



And a set of FIAAM horns>

Both mods are pretty sweet....was that mirror hard to wire up?

Mirror was easy, there is a couple threads here about installing these by tapping into the sunroof, the hardest part was wiring the temp. sensor down the pillar, through the firewall and in behind the grill. I am anal when it comes to soldering wires, electrical tape, plastic wire loom and hiding wires.

They are a set of low/high horns from a Chevy trailblazer. Most newer cars have FIAAM horns, as 2 together. They were easy to take off and retrofit, if you find some, make sure you get the wiring harness for them too. If you mill around a salvage yard for a few minutes you will definately find some.

How does that gentrex mirror mount up to the roof or glass? Does it use the same screw mount as a OEM mirror? I'd like to use the OEM mount rather than glue on glass.

It mounts to the glass, I had to cut off the original mirror arm, smooth it out paint it and put it back in its place.
