I am having difficulty finding the correct placement for the jack and tool bag in my stock/original 3/1979 FJ40. There is definitely not enough room between the back of the driver’s seat and the rear fender well for a jack mount bracket. I have seen the tool bag stashed under the passenger rear jump seat but don’t know if this is correct. Any help is definitely appreciated.

jack behind the drivers seat. Rods on driver rear wheel well and tools under the passenger jump seat.

If there is not enough behind the driver's seat then you obviously have aftermarket seats. The tool bag under the passenger side jump seat is correct. Jack handle were under the driver's jump seat.
