2UZ Throttle Control Dropout at High Throttle Command (1 Viewer)

I swapped a 2uz-fe w/ A750F from a 2003 UZJ100 into my FJ80.

Everything is working great, except the throttle. I read through the APPS/TPS FAQ sticky, but I haven't found a problem that sounds quite like mine.

When I mash the pedal the throttle will open, but after a certain point it suddenly drops to idle. This is 100% repeatable.

I replaced the APPS w/ a junkyard unit a couple times - the problem is repeatable w/ each of them.

The scan tool says the TPS reading is 82.4% max. Beyond that it drops down to about 16% or so, depending on engine warm up cycle/temp.

Next steps are TPS or the throttle valve actuator, but has anyone seen this before in their J100? If so, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Did you retain the OBD2? Can you pull codes?

Edit: Just noticed you hooked up a scan tool. Either way, it sounds like a physical issue (harness?)

I was thinking it could my my wiring job, but I didn't really play much w/ the engine side of things, I did have to make a harness for teh DBW pedal. I assume thats ok since it works until 82% pedal displacement. It might be worth verifying again.
