2LTE Head Casting Number for Updated Version

Is there a way to tell whether or not a 2LTE head is the updated version based on the casting number? Also, is there a way you can tell the heads been replaced by looking at the gasket where the head meets the block? I recently purchased a 1991 LJ71.
