On the average the 2LT on my LJ71, 1987 is giving just 6.25 kilometer toa liter. I think it should give at least 8. Right or wrong?

Also what can be done to improve the consumption?

lots of good info there, real technical, its too bad someone with the know- how of terry syd on (toyota 4wd surf owners page) was dissecting the 2L-TE version of the 2L family. I think there is a ton of potential that isn't being realized with these engines.

probably going to get laughed at for that last comment, but there are smaller motors out there that put out way more power, so why can't we squeze out like 150 hp to the ground, and well over 200 ft/lbs of torque

They break heads with stock power levels. Attempting to push the power higher will result in more problems.
If you want big power, start with an engine that's direct injection, that probably rules out toyota.
May I suggest an Isuzu 4JB1T?

yeah I hear ya, but I haven't had any troubles, and the boost is up and I bag on it in the bush, I think if you can prevent it from overheating than "no worries mate" or what do Kiwi's say ?

Overheating sure seems to nail down the coffin lid on them. But I'd still take it carefully.
We leave the "mate" off.
Of if you're from the North Island it's "Sweet as bro" :D

I'd really like to check out new zealand, we get lots of kiwi's out*here on the ski hills here in British Columbia, there must be some good mountains back out where you guys are because they have some good skills.

Yes I have a lot of friends that did that. One I believe is over there still.
Our mountains are lower and our snow heavier. I guess that means you need to be a stronger skiier to make pace through it.
I haven't been there yet, but it's definitely on the plans. But after I go to europe and ship home a nice little diesel car for the wife.
