To keep my 2L-TE head going as long as possible I took advise from some of the threads I've read (Wayne)and unhooked the vacuum from the wastegate actuator. Now as discussed in this thread https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=122389&highlight=engine+warning+light
the engine warning light comes on when I punch it.
Being new to turbo diesels and 4X4's you will have to excuse my ignorance. Why can you disable the wastegate with no adverse effects? Is over boosting ok for short durations? The system is there for a reason I would think.
Any thoughts?

Also has anybody had all those placards in the Prado's translated??
Not knowing alot about electric hubs and such I would be interested in what they say. Like can you hit the hub locks on the move? I saw somewhere a discusion about under 10k was OK.

Does anybody know were I can get a front R/H signal light assy.? I'ts the amber one just above the bumper.

Thanks

no ill side effects, you did install a boost gauge right? you should be running a max of 14 psi and on the highway you should be right around the 8 psi...

the hubs MUST be locked when standing still, the 4H button can be activated at any speed once the HUBS ARE LOCKED...
