What is the purpose of this magnet and how does it work? Does it hook up to any electrical connection? My 2H has M/T and w/o EDIC system.

Help Identifying Part
lostmarbles, you're a champion. Here's a pic of my EDIC, it's not like the one above. It simply has a single standard male blade clip connector at the back. Maybe this is the EDIC controller?
