I actually found the July 2005 issue that has the story written by Arron. I skimmed over it, but I did not see the info about doing a "dual oil setup" on the crank? or whatever. Maybe there was another article about that part. I'm pretty sure I remember reading a pretty detailed article on this, but maybe it was a separate story. I'll try a PM. Thanks, JohnTonkota on mud here wrote it. He used to have it up as a pdf, but the link is dead now. I quick search on my computer didn't find a digital copy of it.Perhaps he could help you out if you PM him.
