Howdy,

My brother shipped me a 2f on a pallet from El Paso to Austin via YRC a few weeks ago.

He got it as a package deal as a spare engine for a FJ62. It a confirmed early Feb 1987 2F.

Since he did not have any history I opened it up. All fluids and oil drained from it by PO.

Looks to have 0.75mm (0.030 ") over pistons) and 0.25mm (0.010") under crank and rod journals. No evidence of blown head gaskets. Bearings look in good condition overall.

So looking for a reputable machine shop that can do a long block rebuild. Hoping to stay in the Austin /San Antonio area.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Ernie

Bump to the top. Indeed to get this rolling.
Any leads?

@RiverCityDave used a machinist in Dripping Springs for the 1FZ head he pulled from my 80. Maybe he'll drop the coordinates here.

Ernie, call Bearden to see who they use

Please send me a PM with his info.
I need a 2F head redone as well

Thanks
Ernie

Ernie! I had this all written somewhere on a notepad back when I was going to rebuild my 2F. I'll dig around and see if I can find any info in my notes/ receipts stash. Mind you, that list is now 10 years old, but I'll look.

Negative on finding any old notes. I looked last night. I did, however, compare some receipts on Toyota Pink SLLC and the prices have gone up dramatically!
