Hey Mud,

Ive done some searching but not coming up with a solid answer.

Im putting together a 1977 2F.
I want to do a set of piston rings while its on the engine stand. Motor has not been bored over so just looking for some standard size rings.

What is the preferred brand of choice guys are using these days?

Toyota rings are north of $300

Thanks

The Chinese make a lot of piston rings these days, for less than OEM. The problem is, the quality control is hit or miss. Do you want to gamble, with something that is that much of a pain in the ass to replace, if you get the ones made or inspected on a Monday? I don't. In this case, OEM are worth the money in my opinion.

Totally agree, but wondered if there was an AISIN Toyota type quality out there.

I mean I'm not building a race engine or anything
