I m pulling the 2F this weekend for an Overhaul and have searched here for recommended Brands and Sources of same to use. Only consensus I find is on the Cam from Mark W in Wasilla so that's one mystery solved.

For you guys who have overhauled your engines what brands/sources did you use and have good things to say about them.

I m planning on::

Valve Seals,
Intake and Exhaust valves
Bearing sets/Cam, Mains, and Rods,
Pistons and Rings
Timing Gears

I have a new oil pump and gasket set so I m set there.

I searched the FAQs on this and not much there.. I ll submit a list of what and where I bought it when this is over to help the next guy.

Thanks for the help and Have a good weekend....I know I will.

I recommend having your machinist order your parts. You tell the machinist just what you want and how much is in the budget. He (or she, of course) will get the best price and the parts will fit.

That's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm taking my spare 2f to Portland Engine Builders, and let them take it from there.
