My buddy has a set of BFG KM-2's laying in his warehouse. Along with alot of other bfg a/t and km's. He only has 295/75 thats the closest to the 285 in size that he has.

My question is this:

Can I run 295's with spacers or that 12MM BL?

The BF Goodrich website doesn't show them making 295's. :hmm:

This is what they're showing:

They do make the AT in that size.

Maybe he was talking about the a/t. Ill see which ones he has. And hopefully he's not blowing smoke up something.

The Sticky in the FAQ section is wrong on the max tire size (yes, I informed them but no update as they know I do not know anything about the 100-series :D ). Many have run 295 75 16 on a stock rig with no issues. No spacers or body lift needed nor recommended.

Has anyone ran the 295's a/t on and not rubbed?
Same question fir the KM-2 M/T

I'm not lifted. But gunna crank the t-bars when I put them on. They will be mounted on black steelies. Ill have my distance (LTX) tire. My fun tire (a/t) and my tellico/mud tire (km-2).

I ran 295 75 16 Nitto Terra Grapplers for nearly a year with no mods and no issues.

jebus, thats a lot of wheels, then again I had 13 wheels for my truck at one point too.

Pint,

Didn't you have to modify the spare tire set up to fit your 295s?

Who the heck is "them"?

maybe best not to put words in "them"'s mouths or implying intent without basis?

anyway, this argument is at best academic. Seems to me that the definition of universal fit should be no rubbing anywhere ever for all vehicles of standard stock configurations and for all tire models of the reported size. So, if some size does fit in most but not all stock vehicles without rubbing, perhaps due to small variations in vehicle or tire dimensions, sagging etc, that one may then be too marginal to be considered a universal fit. Then the conservative answer would be the next size down. Of course, it would be better to be specific about tire model etc but then you're bogging down in details again.

Yes. I was able to fit fit a 295 Nitto in the spare tire space with the factory hitch. There are threads on it, but basically if you take out the spare you will see the 2 bars it rests against. I took those out and the spare actually sucked up higher than the stock one did! :D

Thanks for all the answers. I feel a little more comfortable now try to cram 295's

I'm doing a med. Lift also. So now my fears are smaller.

I would also consider getting 255/85-16's as they are typically the same height or taller than 295's but also lighter, less rolling resistance and will definitely fit.

Ill trust shotts on the 295 deal.

I think having skinnier tires would make sense in a way. But since I'm keeping the LTX as my DD tire. I will just upsize my offroad setup

295 nitto's rub in the rear before and after lift. 295 BFG at's rub in the rear even with lift. Only at mad flex against the inside upper wheelwell. No damage done. I would call it a fit and not think twice. I do not recomed the use of wheel spacers. That 12mm body would do the trick. Unless you alter your bump stops the max tire size is the same before and after installing a lift. All currently available lifts give you more droop (determined by the length of the shock) but not more or less compression than factory design(you don't gain or loose any wheel stuff). Lastly be sure to get an alignment and check droop after you "crank the t-bars" but what do I know I only have 200 posts. Lastly, Lastly take off that silly brush guard and don't brag about "offroading" tickets. Be part of the solution. Tread Lightly.

aaahhhh. The brushguard issue.....

Need a place for my lights.
Even if it's chrome, who cares? Do people really look at a Landcruiser and judge who's driving it?
I'm waiting for the right bumper ( I'm fabbing a custom one up) because the combo is used on 4runners. Lr3. Cruisers 80,100,200 series. Heeps. And a hyundia.

And the ticket deal. I have LTX's. Even if I wanted to destroy land, I would get stuck before I hurt the grass. I tread lightly. Very lightly actually, I don't want to take a nice road tire and cut/destroy it. Thats wasting money.
The cop was a dick. He saw me coming up a dusty path and pulled me over. My friend was the one stuck in 5 feet of mud. Which would then make me guilty by association. Rather than telling us we were tresspassing ( no signs or anything, yes we looked) he gave us tickets. Fines of 25$. The judge laughed at traffic court and threw the case out. Hardly wheeling my truck and damaging things. The path was more like a huge trail that a greyhound bus could go up. Thats about how aggressive the area was.

As for the thread, thanks for the answer. Ill have some steelies with 285 mickey thompson baja crawlers and bfg km-2. I'm a little skeptical on the mickeys though. Look a little too crazy.... Like getting 10K out of them crazy.
