I did search this but couldn't find the answer. Real quick and we can let this one die - will 285's fit on totally stock 1997 80 without trimming or rubbing?

Just put a set of Nitto 285's on my 96 LC--also stock height OME springs with new OEM shocks from CDan. No problemo. Transforms the vehicle's look from the stock tires.

Hmm, the number one thread in a search using key words "285s fit" was this one, followed by one that has the information you are looking for, but the original poster in that thread found the info on his own in the FAQ. I wonder why they call it a FAQ?.............

Yes.

285's and OME 861/862 combo lifted my rig 2 inches from stock tire/spring height. A nice surprise.

Enjoy!

In the Prescott area the most common mod to a stock 80 is 285 - 315 tires. Many are still Mom's taxi and Dad wants to mod. The most that he may be allowed is tires and brush guard. 305's or 315's rub a bit but no damage and only rub at full twist.
