Is there a single site where you can find every incident of a V35A failure, by model, year and mileage? I presume that info is closely held by Toyota, nevertheless, it would be interesting reading and might serve to calm fears.

I think he was talking about generally the other 99.9% of vehicles being sold today. I agree with him, most of them are over priced disposable garbage.
Well, his claim was that ALL new vehicles are piles of disposable garbage. I would say most are, but not all. In addition to the LX, I can think of the Armada and its Infinity sibling both of which are getting some great reviews. Even the new RAV4 does not look that bad. New Subarus too. I am sure others can chime in with more examples of a mix between good quality and tech. Also, I can think of several cars from the 2000s and 2010s 200 series era that were no-doubt piles of garbage - think GM Acadias. Reality is that we are hell bent towards an era of all-screens-cell-phone-like cars and quality is absolutely not the priority, but there are still exceptions out there if you know what to look for.

Toyota is on my s*** list. This may be my last one.
I posted earlier that I waited to get a tundra and went with a GMC Duramax...... This morning my truck started right up with no sound. The rear passenger seat chimes because the sensor says there's a passenger and there isn't. I've had to regen it because of the soot build-up because of the DEF, last weekend I had to reset the info system because it would not connect and so the maps would not work.... just saying that they all seem to have major problems now.

Yup, too busy screwing around with touchscreens instead of making things more and more reliable.

50k trouble free miles 2022 lx600.
32k trouble free miles 2025 lx700OT (except tech-induced sensor defect and self induced transmission line laceration).

If it wasn't for the tundra, there would just be less of these engines on the road and less total failures. In theory, the % of failures between all these models should be similar though. It's not just the amount of failures that makes it an issue, it's the cause, if we're to believe toyota. One small metal shaving of the right size/shape and in the right place can grenade the bearing and it can seemingly happen at any time. And there's nothing an owner can really do to stop or prevent it.

People who work on the engine have been speculating that it is to do with some unintentional flexing in the engine bed. If that were the case then perhaps how the engine is attached to the chassis matters as well, which means it is not unreasonable to expect different failure rates for different models on the same engine.

How many LC300s post 2024 has had engine issues. Why I am asking this question is because I own an LC300 in the Middle East and the LC and LX is extremely popular here. A lot of LCs have already reached high mileage as people in ME go everywhere in their car.

The conditions are really harsh too. Temperatures exceed 50 degrees Celsius plus in the summer and dust is always an issus. Add to that a lot of LCs are taken to the desert.
