I have a 24v HJ60 and want to convert to 12V. Doing an LS swap. Hate dealing with 2 batteries. Two options I am contemplating:

1) 12v harness swap (which I have).

2) replace all 24v items and use existing harness (relays, fuses, wiper motor, bulbs, instrument cluster (doing speedhut) use PS battery location with fusible links. LS will be 12v.

Like option 2 because the harness I have is really clean and everything works.

Option 1 requires some work to reinstall and verify as well. Not afraid of the effort.

Anything I am missing with going option 2?

At 24v there is less amperage in each wire for a given load. 12v double the amps vs a 24v. Someone hopefully can verify that the 24v harness gauge is not sized differently than the 12v harness.

Same size wire. They did it that way for NATO. Overbuilt. Same wire size as 12v trucks, half the amperage.
