I am desperately searching for a voltage regulator part number 27700-56040. It’s 6pin but oval plug.

That oval plug is the problem. I can find a voltage regulator 6 Pin with a square plug but no one seems to know how to solder on the correct wires to the overall plug. Colour code. Has anyone ever attempted this transplant? Square plug to oval?

Hi,
Knew that general market like Europe had rectangles plug and Canada round plug (exact same VR).
I did make a "emergency" cable just in case my Europe soec VR fail. (Had a round one in my spare).

Couldn't Make it work at first, was using the FSM but the manual was wrong (round)...
I did open both box an traced wire.
Cleanded and adjusted the old one with a dc variable voltage.

If you have a new one, you may try to follow each wire, draw a diagram and compare with your original...

Wow this is super helpful! So does this mean I can just splice in my round plug for the square one straight across? Are you fairly confident in the locations?

On the VR rectangle , I got IG=white with red stripe, N=white with blue stripe, F=white with green strip, E=white with black stripe, L=yellow with white stripe (big wire), B=white (big)

On the VR round, all the same except that B=white with a red strip (2x bigger than IG)
Not 100% sure those are original on the round, been repaired in the past.

That The VR circuit board...

place both VR’s beside each other

remove both covers
draw 2 six pin connectors on a piece of paper - one oval/one square

trace the wires back from the plugs to the location in the VR’s
compare/label, location and wire colour*

get a pin tool
remove plug from old VR

remove plug from new VR

use plug from old VR and insert pins in the appropriate six locations*

you should not need to splice or solder

Pin on the rectangle plug are like 2 time larger than the round plug so these wont fit. Not sure about oval.
