Greetings to all future friends and fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts,
I recently acquired a 1978, BJ 40 with a 1981 era 3B engine and I am having charging system difficulties. It appears as though I need a 24 V voltage regulator with the original part number 27700–56040, I am such a noob that I did not understand the long forum dedicated to someone else attempting to find the same part and I’m looking for any help that I can get in securing such a part for my mechanic.
My mechanic recommends converting the whole thing to a 12 V charging system to circumvent similar future problems. Does anybody here have experience acquiring the part in question or converting the entire electrical / charging system to 12 V? Thank you so much in advance for your assistance!
