22re normal rpms (1 Viewer)

Hey forum,

1992 xtracab , 22re, I believe stock gears , tires 31x10.5Xr15 mt’s

just wanting to double check my rpms at high way speeds.. I know the engine is not a revy one but it seems a bit low .

engine was replaced about 6,000 miles ago through Toyota. I’d like to assume they adjusted the tac etc

The seems right. 5th gear pics?
My s*** runs lower in 5th. Gotta peg out 4th gear on the freeways. No guts no glory.

I run 2800rpm at 70mph in 5th. 32" tires and 4.56 gears.

At 60mph, my 22R runs at "hmmmmm". At 70mph, it's more HMMMMM" Sorry, I don't have a tach

'80 with a 20R and 4.37 diffs is designed to run at 3100rpm in 4th(1:1) Tires were H78/15 (28")

Thanks for the response ... Yes it’s in 5th.. Coming from the higher Rev’n 2.7 Tacoma has me double checking everything lol .

I think somewhere in this forum's FAQ is a link to an incredible speed & rpm calculator. There's pre programmed trans & transfercase ratios that can all be formulated with different axle gears and tire sizes. I haven't used it in years, but IIRC it is on the FAQ.
