I'm moving on from my 80 series and GX460 and have a newly acquired 2021 TRD Pro. That's another story.

I also have a BearPaw Bruin off-road trailer with RoofNest RTT. It's a heavy trailer being all steel. The BearPaw is setup for trailer brakes, including being pre-wired. So I'm planning on adding brakes, and using a RedArc Trailer brake module. In my glovebox I found what I believe is a trailer brake pigtail so installation should be pretty straightforward.

Sure would like some advice or tips from those that have done a trailer brake addition to their 4Runner. Thanks.

Well, I’m in the 5th Gen 4Runner forum, so yeah, it’s a 4Runner TRD Pro

Hey man - a bit off topic, but I also have a 5th gen TRD Pro and I am kind of tempted to sell it and go for an HDJ81 turbo diesel 80 series JDM import. Why did you end up leaving the 80 and going to a 5th gen? Any insight would be appreciated.

PS. I love my 4runner, but something about owning a classic, more analogue 4x4 is calling me hard.
