2017 Transmission issue (1 Viewer)

I’m posting on behalf of my dads 2017 Land Cruiser (USA):

Started the LC, higher than normal RPM’s and they didn’t go down, shifted into R, transmission jerked into R, backed up, shifted to D, transmission jerked into D. Wouldn’t shift out of first gear, it’s on its way to Toyota now but I’m really confused as to what’s going on. He wasn’t in 4L, it has 20k miles on it.

I would think so. Should be 60 months/60,000 miles unless it's certified which would make longer.

It is under warranty but they don’t cover rodents crawling into things and eating them. Peppermint spray bought in bulk after this one.

I had similar problem when I had my 16LC. I was backing up and before the vehicle fully stopped I have shifted to D. After that transmission went out of whack by engaging late, jerking, feeling like still in N while in D, etc... Towed it to the dealer and they have done a reset of transmission software. Everything was fine after. I hope this helps.
