I accidentally made off with one of the battery packs for the forest service radios. Anyone going out there this weekend that I could try to drop it off with to return? I could also mail it back to the rangers if I could get a good mailing address for it.

I didn’t really give a trip report from the weekend.
I ran with Tracy on the North end Saturday, and Jason on the South end Sunday. Not really any issues to speak of.
The 300V glacier is not too bad yet, but there is ice down there. The mogul coming out of 300V, where you have to squeeze around the large rock has gotten worse, and will be difficult for vehicles with limited suspension travel or no traction aids. It’s definitely worth noting.

The ice is already bad enough on the 315 slide off spot between 314 and 320, that neither Jason or I felt comfortable crossing it. That area should be checked.

I live pretty far northeast side of Black Forest, about 10min north of Falcon. I work downtown but I left it at home today so I may as well just mail it to them.

I'm in Black Forest near Burgess & Black Forest Rd if you want to drop it off before Sunday.

Not much snow this year, but I'm sure it will come soon! And of course, we'll get 10" of snow on Mother's Day in May!!!

Nice pics Tracy. I snapped a few on Saturday:

My faithful helper. He’s very good at showing me where there’s deer poop, where other dogs have pee’d On trees, and who might have food in my group...

Jason and I directing traffic for a couple hours. The Hyundai in the picture had snapped part of it’s rear suspension on the washboards. Tire was folded up into the fender well. Ouch.

Slow day Sunday - just Greg & I. Kept an eye on the 300V glacier (much worse then last weekend - I didn't drive over it) and the slide-off area on 315. Jeff & I (mostly Jeff) did talk briefly with a Gazette reporter researching homeless camps on Forest Service land.

Just an fyi about the Christmas tree cutting program this year. The Forestry sold 5,391 permits this year. I'm pretty sure that's several hundred more than normal.
