Hello...looking at buying a new TLC...'17 or '18. On my current 2004 LC I removed the running board following instructions from someone on this forum. Worked well. I added a front mudflap and have enjoyed for all these years w/o the running boards. I find it easier to get in and out and also really like the appearance. Also added tires with a 1" increase in total diameter which filled up the wheel well w/o and issues....other than speedo off by about 3%.

I searched but found no info or instructions as to the 200 series LC?? Anyone remove their running boards? If so any issues...or pictures of the process? Do they have OEM mudflap...or are they already on the original set-up?

Also curious about 1" larger diameter tire? Worked great on the '04.

Now if I can just find a red '17 for good price? Maybe $75K or less? Any word on first '18s...dealer has a list with incoming and inventory that includes some 18's w/serial number but not arrived.

Thanks...TomR

Removing the running boards is a 15-minute job. Very easy. My front mudflaps were already removed so I don't recall whether those tied into the running boards... don't think they did.

You can step up from the stock tire size to a 33-inch (285/65r18 or 275/70r18) with no-to-little modification.

mudflaps are separate from the running boards. I removed my boards and put on sliders, then removed the front mud flaps later.
